2nd Amendment Issues

Gun control and second amendment freedoms is an on going issue in the US. Find a current article about gun control and tell us abut it. Both Washington DC and Chicago had court cases over gun bans in recent years, that is one area you could look at.

  1. I think this is stupid because they take all the good guy guns away then the bad guys will still have guns (STUPID RETARDS)................

  2. I think that they shouldn't ban guns to the normal people who use them for hunting and for target shooting but they should ban them to the people convicted with feloneys and things like that and maybe ban them in some public places and stuff like that.

  3. "In the wake of the shootings in Arizona in January 2011, in which a gunman with a Glock semiautomatic killed six people and wounded 14 wounded, including a congresswoman, polls will likely gauge the public’s support for stricter gun control laws." - New York Times.
-I think that people need to be responsible with their guns and not just be able to do whatever they want with them and just be able to bring them around anywhere, thats not right. There should be a ban on bringing guns in public. But they don't need to take guns away from anyone.

  5. With Obama wanting to make stricter laws on gun control I think would be a good idea because there is just too much gun movement freedom going around. But Josh really that is not exactly what they are implying, Obama wants more gun controllment and he wouldn't be taking the "good guys" guns cause the good guys are the Cops and they need their guns for their work. I myself hate guns and wouldn't care if all of guns were destroyed I would just say good riddance to them all.

  6. i think guns should not be allowed in public. they should only be used in certain circumstances like hunting, or cops and military and what not. citizens should have to take gun safety, not just when they are young to hunt, but they should have to repeat the class after such amount of years. that way we know these people are using these guns "correctly" to the best of our knowledge.

  7. I found an article on the website, "The News". It discussed the issue of being able to bear arms and mentally capabilities. The Gabriel Gifford's incident has lead some to want gun control to be more strong. The author of this article was greatly for having more strictness when it comes to owning a law. Some 17 year olds may be suitable to own a gun, but then a 19 year old may not be mature enough. It a debatable issue and mental illnesses should be considered. The Gabriel Gifford's shooter was likely infected by an extensive medical illness, this should be considered when there is guns involved. Those who are mentally stable, should be able to bear arms.

  8. I think that they should keep guns laws the way they are. All they have to do is make it harder for people to buy ammo. They could do this by making anyone that is going to buy ammo get fingerprinted.

  10. I don't think everybody should get their "guns" taking away, but rather if you do something bad with them like have a school shooting or something. Then you should loose your rights to own weapons. But I don't think it would be fair to all of a sudden take everybody's guns away if they didn't do anything wrong.

  11. I feel that the people that miss use their guns should have their guns taken away and the people that have guns should be able to keep their guns for their own personal use.

  12. I think that their should be a ban on some guns like machine guns for common people who are not in the military. I think the laws and restrictions they have now are ideal but they can ban certain guns that should not be exposed to the common people.

  13. well if you get a permit for those guns i think you should be able to use them for protection and but if you have a felony then you shouldn't have a gun at all but i also i disagree with you tom what if there was a riot in a town you are in and they had guns and they were killing everyone you just have the upper hand if you have the machine guns and i am being serious

  14. i read this article about government wanting to give the rights to felons and other people without having to get permits. If you can't go through the backround check or the time to get a permit, you don't need a gun.
